Celebrating our seniors

March to the post office - december 2020

Every December, thousands of seniors in EL Education public schools march together for the College March to a local post office to mail in their college applications. This tradition inspires hope and pride in communities across the country, as the seniors show younger students and families a new vision of what is possible.

With the college process being online now, Renaissance seniors write and mail out thank you notes to those who have helped them in the college process. This year, we were fortunate to have the Post Master for Western Massachusetts join us to celebrate our students for our socially distant drive thru event!

john & abigial adams scholarship ceremony - November 2020

This year we were able to celebrate all 38 Renaissance seniors who were awarded the John & Abigail Adams Scholarship through our virtual recognition ceremony.

The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship provides a tuition credit for up to eight semesters of undergraduate education at a Massachusetts state college or university. The scholarship covers tuition only; fees and room and board are not included.

Students in the class of 2021 qualify for the scholarship by receiving the following:

  • Score at the Advanced performance level on one of the three high school state assessment tests in ELA, Mathematics, or STE (Biology, Chemistry, Introductory Physics, or Technology/Engineering); and

  • Score at the Proficient level or higher on the remaining two high school state assessment tests; and

  • Have combined scores from the three tests that place them in the top 25 percent of students in the graduating class in their district.
